Facebook Retargeting & Facebook Tracking Pixel
This website uses a Facebook Pixel which allows us to follow the actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This lets us record the efficacy of our Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes. The collected data remains anonymous, and we cannot view the personal data of any user collected in this manner. This information is saved and processed by Facebook.
Facebook IS able to connect the data with your Facebook account and then use that data for their own advertising purposes, in accordance with their Data Use policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/). You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and off Facebook. A cookie may also be stored on your computer for these purposes.
You can object to the collection of your data by Facebook pixel, or to the use of your data for the purpose of displaying Facebook ads by contacting the following address: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.
We use a tool through Facebook called the Custom Audience tool which enables me to advertise our books through Facebook to people who may be interested in them. This allows me to personalize our ads with Facebook. This tool lets us convert your email address (gathered if you click the appropriate box when you sign up to our mailing list) into a unique number Facebook uses to match to unique numbers generated from email addresses of it’s users. If you previously gave consent and now wish to withdraw it, email your request to us at mina-susanATalienalphas.com

Cookies
Unfortunately, we’re not talking about the delicious kind of cookies here (we’re partial to chocolate chip.) A cookie on a website is a little bit of code that collects info from the person browsing the site… it’s not going to grab your bust size or inside leg measurement. Rather, it collects info on your interactions with the site. We use cookies to see which of our pages and books you guys like the best and things like what browsers you use (so we can make things look all nice and snazzy whatever you’re using!)
Cookies cannot know any personal information by themselves, you would have to enter that information onto the website they reside on and we do not use any tracking cookies (so basically you leave our site and we wave goodbye, we don’t have anything that monitors your movements after you leave!).
Cookies also keep track of advertisements.
BUT, if you prefer not to have cookies enabled, then please… set your browser to disable them before using the site. Since browser is a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. Some things might look a little hinky but you’ll still be able to use the site!
